Edinburgh became the fifth Scottish Business Improvement District with the announcement on 27 May that Edinburgh businesses in the BID area had voted to adopt its BID proposal.

This year Falkirk, Clackmannanshire, Bathgate Town centre and Inverness have already voted to agree BIDs.
