If you are accessing this policy via www.bpf.org.uk, "we", "our" and "us" means, in the remainder of this policy, the British Property Federation ("BPF"). If you are accessing this policy via www.scottishpropertyfederation.org.uk, "we", "our" and "us" means, in the remainder of this policy, the Scottish Property Federation ("SPF").
In this policy, the term "personal data" has the meaning given to it in the Data Protection Act 1998.
Under the Data Protection Act 1998, we have a legal duty to protect any personal data which we collect from you. The BPF and SPF websites do not automatically capture or store personal data from visitors to its sites. However, if we do receive your personal data, we will not pass it on to any third party or Government Department unless you give us permission to do so.
We do collect anonymous data, regarding website usage, when cookies are enabled (see our cookies policy for more information). This includes users' IP addresses and hostnames and session details such as the duration of the visit, pages visited and the nature of the web browser used. This data does not identify you personally; it is used to help us diagnose problems with our data server, to administer our websites and to compile statistics about our visitors and their use of our sites.
When you are booking a place at our events we will use reasonable endeavours to ensure your privacy is protected and that any personal data which you provide to us is processed fairly and lawfully. When you contact us directly to make an events booking, we will ask you for contact details, and payment details when relevant. This information allows us to complete your booking and to notify you of details about the event. Payment details will be held on a secure server for as long as is necessary to process payments which you have authorised (and your payment details will be deleted promptly after any such payment has been processed).
If you are currently receiving regular mailings from the BPF or SPF and would like this to stop, you can opt out and ask for your information to be removed from our database.
You can unsubscribe directly from the email you have received by scrolling to the bottom of the email and clicking 'unsubscribe', then following the instructions in your web browser. This will ensure that we are unable to send you regular mailings of that sort again unless you opt back in, but we will still have your email information.
If you would like us to remove all your personal data from our systems, please get in touch.
Any changes we make to this policy in the future will be posted on this page. Please check back frequently to see any updates or changes to this policy.
