Welcome to the Scottish Property Federation (SPF)

Our role at the Scottish Property Federation is to gain the best possible legislative and regulatory conditions for the Scottish commercial property industry to operate successfully.  We believe that a successful commercial property industry is a vital part of growing and regenerating the Scottish economy.  We estimate that the industry contributes to at least 8.5% of GVA (gross value added) to the Scottish economy, equivalent to some £7.34bn per annum at 2005 figures.   Commercial property is also an important investment asset and contributes to pension funds across Scotland and the UK.

As part of the British Property Federation, we have a proven track record of effectively representing the commercial property industry to the UK government.  The Scottish Property Federation builds on this by focusing on the Scottish Government and the Scottish Parliament.  We represent our members most effectively by working closely with those who advise and decide on public policy in Holyrood, Westminster and Brussels, to put forward the industry’s views and to make sure that decision makers are aware of the consequences of their decisions and the potential of the commercial property industry to act as a driver of economic growth. The key strength of our organisation is ensuring that decision-makers directly hear the expert advice of those who work in the commercial property markets.

The Scottish Property Federation represents a wide range of organisations, now standing at over 100 different companies, with an interest in commercial property, including owners, developers, investors and their professional advisors.  If your organisation is involved with the commercial property industry but is not a member we'd be delighted to get you involved!
